Polperro Model Village

(Less than a mile)

A charming day out for all the family, Polperro Model Village and Land of Legend is two attractions in one. The model village is Polperro in miniature and has been around for more than 60 years. Land of Legend explores Cornish folklore and tales of pirates and smugglers who thrived in and around Cornwall from the early modern period through to the 19th century. It is a unique show of lights, sound and animation. The site also houses a model railway, and prices are £3 for adults and £2 for children, open daily from Easter to October.

Polperro Museum

(Less than a mile)

Overlooking the harbour is the Polperro Heritage Museum of Smuggling and Fishing which houses a collection of historic exhibits that date back to a time when both smuggling and fishing thrived in Polperro in the 19th Century. It brings to life the village’s history and the lives of the people who lived there, having depended on fishing for generations and been home to no less than three factories close by at one point. Entry is £1.75 for adults and 50p for children.

Looe Fishing Trips

(about 4 miles)

Polperro’s neighbouring town of Looe offers lovely scenic boat trips taking you around it’s beautiful blue waters. You can book group fishing trips, including shark fishing and spot the amazing wildlife that occupy the coastline. Make sure to guard your food and watch out for the diving seagulls, they’ll never miss an opportunity to snatch a bite!

In the busier months during Spring and Summer, parking is limited and can be tricky to find a space, it might be worth planning in advance and getting there earlier to park.

If you don’t quite fancy the rocky seas, there are perfect spots along Looe harbour wall to go crab fishing! Please don’t forget to guard the little crabs from the seagulls and let them gently back in the sea once you’re done.

The Monkey Sanctuary

(about 8 miles)

One of the rare chances to spot a monkey in Cornwall! This is a delightful opportunity to see the unique 36 inhabitants that live in the Monkey Sanctuary and learn about their personalities, habitats and the rescue centre who look after them. Although closed in the winter months, the Sanctuary opens its doors from March to September, dates vary so make sure to check before your visit.

The Warren to Talland Bay

(about 2 miles)

One of the most beautiful and scenic trails to venture along the coastline to Talland Bay. Start your journey from Polperro walking up the Warren and seeing the incredible views of the village, perfect for a family photo!

The walk covers hills and narrow coastal trails, make sure to keep to the paths as there are steep cliffs straight down to the sea. There are stunning views throughout the hike and a refreshing ice cream break once you reach Talland Bay where a lovely little beach awaits you.

Polmartin Riding

(about 7 miles)

Beaituiful horse riding lessons nearby offering trekking in the gorgeous setting of Cornish countryside close to Liskeard. No matter the weather, they welcome riders all year round with wonderfully trained horses. And you don’t have to be an expert at riding either! They offer lessons and training for all stages, from beginners to intermediate with qualified riders.

Adrenalin Quarry

(about 11 miles)

A day of adventure within a water filled quarry near Liskeard. There’s much to do and a choice of many activities to enjoy. They offer an Aquapark, Zip line, Kart track racing and giant swing, plus Axe throwing! This is sure to bring fun filled memories and excitement for all the family.
